For the first time in India, the National Association of Realtors –
India (NAR-INDIA), in association with the Association of Real Estate Agents of
Mumbai organized a one day Seminar on Prospering in a Changing Market for
Realtors on April 07th, 2010 at Mumbai. In his welcome address, Prof. Dr. P. S.
N. Rao, Chairman of NAR-INDIA stated that this programme was being organized by
NAR-INDIA, the common voice for real estate brokers in India, to enhance the
skills of brokers all over the country, to face the emerging challenges in the
current market conditions. He stated that NAR-INDIA has plans to organise many
such programmes on a pan-India basis across various cities so as to improve the
service levels of brokers and provide consumers better choices and value for
money. Ravi Varma, President of NAR-INDIA made a detailed presentation about
the National Association and stated that the association has taken many key
steps by forming alliances with various national and international
organizations so that the brokerage industry gains a credible image in the
country. Pravin Doshi, President, MCHI, who was the Chief Guest, stated in his
keynote address that real estate builders and developers need the services of
professionally trained brokers and that NAR-INDIA is doing an excellent job of
providing the much needed professionalism of the brokerage industry. Chaitanya
Parekh, President of MCHI-Thane who as the Guest of Honour, extended his
congratulations to NAR-INDIA and stated that brokers are the key element in the
real estate supply chain and that the movement of NAR-INDIA is a welcome one.
The daylong seminar attracted over 600 brokers from all parts of the country,
with five technical sessions on topics as varied as the present day need for
real estate agents, prospering in a changing market, motivational skills,
cutting edge technologies, taxation and legal issues and a panel discussion.
The Directory of National Real Estate Consultants was launched in the presence
of Niranjan Hiranandani and Sunil Mantri, well known builders and developers of
the country. The entire programme was hosted by the Association of Real Estate
Agents of Mumbai represented by Kalpesh Shah, its President for the current
year.
