HMDA Master Plan for Hyderabad City Core Areas Released

Published & Updated as on - 2010-08-24

The master plan for erstwhile Municipal Corporation of Hyderabad (core area) was cleared by the Municipal Administration and Urban Development (MA & UD) department on Saturday 21/8/10.

The master plan for the core city has been revised by the Hyderabad Metropolitan Development Authority (HMDA), which has been accepted by the Municipal Administration Department. The revised master plan draft was released through a notification on December17, 2009, and MA & UD had invited objections and suggestions from citizens.

Workshops with all stakeholder departments and a consultative meeting was also conducted by HMDA on the revised draft master plan for the city.

The Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) had also suggested several changes, particularly road width and land uses in certain areas.

After taking their objections and suggestions into consideration, the state government has cleared the draft master plan along with land use zoning and development promotion regulations.

Official said the final master plan would be available at the HMDA office during office hours till plans are printed and made available for the general public.
