Published & Updated as on - 2010-12-28

HYDERABAD: The Hyderabad Metropolitan Development Authority (HMDA) has initiated the process of providing plots to families affected during acquisition of land for the 158 km long Outer Ring Road.

The Hyderabad Growth Corridor Limited (HGCL), which is the implementing authority for the ORR has come out with the proposal for development of layouts for these families in a site spread over 100 acres in Survey No. 507 and 548 of Koheda village in Hayathnagar mandal. For the purpose, the HGCL which has been entrusted with the responsibility of layout developments in identified government sites for making allotments of plots to the ORR affected families has recently invited tenders from consultancy firms for a detailed project on the development of Koheda site. The detailed report sought from the chosen consultancy firm include a survey and field investigation in the earmarked site, a topographical plan, designing internal roads and others such as footpaths and kerbs, design of water supply, sewerage network and electrical power supply lines. Also included are the tasks of preparing designs for other facilities such as landscaping and avenue plantation of the site. The HGCL call looks at firms that have experience in providing services in similar nature of works in minimum of 50 acres of layout sites. Earlier, a total of seven different locations along the city suburbs were identified for coming up residential layouts to those who lost land for the ORR project. These seven locations apart from Koheda had included at Shamshabad Ringtown Complex (45 acres), Chitukula (100 acres) in Patancheru mandal, Pedda Amberpet (60 acres) and Piglipur (37 acres) in Hayathnagar mandal, Thimmaipally (98 acres) and Yadgarpally (55 acres) in Keesara mandal.
