Sujan Luxury Hotels to invest Rs 100 cr in 3 new properties

Published & Updated as on - 2010-02-23

Sujan Luxury Hotels, which owns two properties in Rajasthan, today said it will invest around Rs 100 crore in building three more hotels within three years.

"We will be setting up three more properties within the next three years at an investment of Rs 80 crore to Rs 100 crore," Sujan Luxury Hotels COO Jaisal Singh told PTI.  He said Sujan, which owns Sher Bagh in Ranthambore and The Serai in Jaisalmer, will have one more property in Rajasthan and another one in Uttar Pradesh but declined to share the name of the third location.

"Two of the properties will have 40 suits each, while the third one whose location is yet to be finalised, will be much smaller and have 10-15 rooms," Singh said.

"We will continually strive to create benchmarks in luxury boutique hospitality," he added.

Singh said both existing properties -- Sher Bagh and The Serai -- are part of Relais & Chateaux, a global luxury hospitality association that has 475 of the "finest hotels and gourmet restaurants across the globe" as its members.

Meanwhile, a Relais & Chateaux official said that it has five properties in India as its members, and the association was looking at expanding its presence in the country.

"We are looking at 16-20 members in India within the next 2-3 years," he said, adding that the associations mission is to spread its "unique lifestyle by selecting outstanding properties with a unique character".
