XLRI to set up campus in Hyderabad

Published & Updated as on - 2010-09-22

HYDERABAD: After BITS Pilani, it's now the turn of Jamshedpur-based Xavier Labour Relations Institute (XLRI), one of the top five management institutes in India, to set up shop in Hyderabad. The upcoming campus will be the institute's second campus in the country.

The state government has agreed to allot 75 acres at Jawahar Nagar on the outskirts of the city.

The proposed facility in Hyderabad is expected to augment its student intake, which currently is 240.

The decision to set up the campus comes after three years of persuasion by the state government and a personal invitation by the chief minister in August, said AP Invest in a press release here.

A delegation comprising Fr  E  Abraham, director, XLRI, Jamshedpur, C L George, dean (administration & finance), XLRI and Fr G A P Kishore, Rector, Loyola Academy, Secunderabad, met the chief minister today and informed him about their plans.

Assuring all possible support to make XLRI's Hyderabad campus a quick reality, the chief minister has entrusted the land allocation job to his principal secretary B Sam Bob.
